 Integrating policy, translating into French

 Avid has become the world leader in digital media creation tools for film, video, audio, and broadcast professionals – as well as for home video and home audio enthusiasts. To remain competitive and meet staffing needs in its 3,000-person, twenty-country organization, Avid began developing a global flexibility policy. It was on a tight timeline and needed a quality outcome. Avid asked Rupert & Company to consider developing a package that would integrate their core policies into the comprehensive FlexWise™ suite of online flexibility guidelines.
 
 FlexWise™ Intervention
 R&C developed a way to seamlessly integrate Avid’s policy into the FlexWise™ tools. The R&C-Avid team discussed and made hundreds of customized edits to the text, and adapted some guidance and all agreements for European use. Despite aggressive timelines and staffing shifts midstream, the team was able to work within our online editing environment to deliver an outstanding toolkit on time and within budget. When a last-minute requirement arose to translate parts of the guide into French for use in the Montreal site, this request was addressed quickly and well.
 
 Organizational Outcome
 The outcome was an extremely well-received toolkit which could work equally well in the United States, France and the UK – integrating largely common and always consistent core principles with country-specific requirements.
